Sravani Panchavati
As a self-taught Artist who grew up in the vibrant land of India,
Sravani’s work is deeply influenced by the culture, colour and
landscapes very unique to the country.
Her upbringing in a spiritual environment in India always taught
her the importance of respecting and being in union with the
elements of nature. Many of the spiritual practices that society
around her followed, emphasised the importance of forests and
their sacred energies that enable healing, rejuvenation and
emotional balance. These ideologies shaped her thought.
”One of my core values is slow-living and truly surrendering to
moments in time to maximise any experience to the fullest.”
And for Sravani, the depth, mystery and the captivating nature of
dense wild forests have always been intriguing. She believes Forest
bathing (’Shinrin-yoku’ as the Japanese call it) is a way of finding
tranquility and therapy for modern-day mental health issues.
“I find my soul in a state of meditation, when I walk through thick
bushes with sunlight dancing through the leaves and as I smell the
scents of wood and moss. My breath slows down, dopamine hits its
peak and adrenaline goes high with the fear of encountering a
hidden reptile or even a wild animal. I experience the raw,
unfiltered side of my personality every time I venture in the forests
and I intend to convey the same thrill and wonder through my
paintings.”
Sravani’s paintings are inspired by the dense forests and wildlife that
she had an opportunity to experience closely through her travels.
Through her art, she intends to bring a piece of the calming
ambience of wilderness and the sensory stimuli it provides, close to
the viewer and hopes to help them build a deep connection with it.
